Before you say thats not ture, understand this, we purchase enough oil from those countries, to pay for their yearly military budget, and then some, hmmm ..like a few nuke plants etc. Why...ask the customer who purchases fuel at a Citgo Station or the U.S. goverment for purchasing under contracts,,,,, ask American oil company's Why they purchase from Iran. Ask the U.S. goverment why do we give tax breaks and credits to these company's?
Gosh Do we have the wimps in congress!!!!!!!!
just say No!

You can not just build Nukes from money you get from, oil. You need immense knowlegde to be able to build nuclear weapons. And they get more money from other countries than from the USA. Not to mention, their army isn't nearly strong enough to resists a USA invasion, so even IF (And that's "IF") they get oil-money from the USA, it wouldn't exactly strengthen their cause.

Much of what you stated is true and is based on fact. We do in fact through indirect means keep just about 90% of world governments afloat and functioning with our johnny cash. And as truth be told, we certainly don't garner the desired levels of support from those 90% do we?

I was interested to hear that 7/11 unloaded CITCO. Not sure if it really is just a business decision rather than as a result of President Chavez's remarks against our President. While this does smack of a kneejerk reaction to that incident and is even mentioned in the press release, they may have hurt business than help it along. The vast majority of the nation had no idea that 7/11 gas came from Venezuala in the first place, that and even vaster majority could friggin have cared less, they just want gas in thier tanks......

7/11 decision is a bit shortsighted, isn't it?

I mean US buys oil from Venezuela, which needs the money to keep its economy going.. Even if the President is anti-US he's still cashing the cheques and that makes him vulnerable to pressure from opposition for being a hypocrite and to the US for funding..

Now, by cutting back on oil from there, it gives Chavez more to flog to China which is more than happy to a] take all the oil it can get from wherever it can and b] now have more leverage/influence on another part of the world undermining American influence and cutting off its supply/markets..

I read an article that stated 7-11 had actually started planning to dump Citgo over a year ago. This may have been more of a "decreased timeline" and less "knee jerk reaction".

I am just a descendant. Looking into getting citizenship some time in the next few years, though.
