Hello
The sudan can build a dam in the north to preserve drinking water for these people especially in case of drought? These are the territories of Sudan and normally has the right to do whatever they want as long as they do not touch other countries but the dam will stop and/or decrease the water flow of the Nile River causing serious problems for Egypt. What do you think? Sudan Map Howa lhob malouch nihaya ? |

They do have the right to build whatever they want in thier own country. However they would be foolish to divert all the water in the Nile river. Wars have been started for less than that.

I don't know what the volume of the Nile River is but a Dam should not completely close off the water to Egypt.A dam's purpose is not to close a waterway but to control the water.

Egypt has no other source of drinking water than the Nile, about to import drinking water is no longer an option for the Egyptian government because it will cost them much, Technology of conversion of seawater to drinking water has no great success so far and also costs more expensive and Egypt is not a small country, there are nearly 70 million Population ...

It looks like the River would furnish plenty of fresh water for both Countries both have lakes on the Nile more so in Egypt. Is these lakes polluted or unsafe for drinking.

Yes it's possible, I don't have much information on this point, but as thegunny said it is the territories of Sudan so they have the right to do whatever they want in their territories and I share his point of view

There is one thing else thegunny said is there is no doubt that Wars have been started for less and you best understand if Sudan cut off the water supply to Egypt there would be no doubt what would happen.
