Hope you folks can send some letters to the Illinois Governors site, Seems everyone of Our Hero's Who Fall in Iraq or Afgan. are targeted by groups at thier funeral, Think its best to allow them thier free right that these Hero's gave thier life for, but maybe a few hundred meters away, These groups as tasteless as they are, mostly abortion/ anti gay. etc. forget that without the Sacrifice of these Hero's and many of the past, Thier right to protest is protected, by the members of our armed forces whom they try (and fail) to disgrace. ONLY IN AMERICAN http://www.illinois.gov/gov/
Thanks All

they had the right to protest, just as I have the right to protest them....(my version of protesting involves my fist, a two by four....)

Its too bad that you cant see the difference between self defense (at the individual or national level, it makes no difference other than the level of force required) and assult.

Is an assult like ASSAULT?

AS-SAULTn.
Pronunciation: &-'solt

A violent physical or verbal attack.

Or is assult a corruption of English such as a-hole+insult=assult. I understand it that way, I call people F*cktard sometimes. Same kind of deal. (Not calling you an a-hole Gunny, I try not to namecall the E-7s)

It's these type of people that make myself and my flag proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Patriot Guard Riders at our fallen hero's funerals.

I'm sure you've all heard of us...the bikers who are invited guests of the families. We are there to provide a peaceful barrier between the families and these whack jobs. You don't have ride a bike, (lord knows I don't!) you just need to be there, respectfully showing your support.
We try and keep the protestors at least 200 yards away, and we do NOT use violence to do so. Usually, if it is known that there is going to be protestors, the PD is called in and tells them how close they can't get. We just provide a nice barrier. We also escort the fallen and thier family to the cemetary. Usually we "caged" members (us with 4 wheels and a lid) will go ahead and set up, making sure the family is once again shielded.

If any of you are interested, they are at:

I doesent make any sense to protest a funeral, you just start voting out your states representitives becasue each states representitives are enabling the bush administration to do what it is doing. Then when you have democratic leadership you can change the military from the top because trying to change it from the bottem is a fruitless effort (the whole join and move up in rank until you can doing something about your 20 years of degraded quality of life is a nonsense approch). It just makes the process of getting republicans out off office easy when the administration totally disregards what the people want. And then of course the easy answer to that is what cav already said, oh the whole nation is messed up because they dont support vietnam part 2.

Is what I am saying really that crazy? If you want change you have to take actions that support the change you are looking for. I dont agree with the whole funeral protests, because its not the private in the desert that got shots fault, its the policies and procedures that the military uses that are at fault and the elected officials in office.
