At a guess, id say either C2 or forward observation. But don't hold hold me to it, armoured corps is not my strong point

RPG bait......
SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL I prefer to think that the chip on my shoulder gives the monkey on my back something to play with. I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I’m doing. “The Meek shall inherit the earth….after I’m through with it.” |

It not a CTV. Anyway, why waste a M1 on a C2V. I wish I had a picture of the back of the turret. I’m not sure if the turret was disassembled, but I could see lots structure and frame that would use up any C2V space.
I was thinking that it is a LOSAT missile launcher. On the top of the turret there seems to be two large, long hatches. Maybe LOSATs missile pop out of those hatches. The LOSAT missiles will increase its effective range, but cost more per pop. Anyone know much about this strategy? |

This is not an official publication from the United States Army, Department of Defense, its subordinate commands, nor its affiliated contractors in development and execution of this protoype.
CAVEATS: NONE XM1A3 High Survivability Experimental. Multi-dimension platform for modular adjustment into C2 node, Combat Escort, SASO support. Using the Abrams Powerplant and reducing overall turret weight to less than 17 tons by removal of the Main Gun, allows it maintain speed with light wheel convoy elements, while providing the Abrams armor system. Additionally, the reactive armor on the front glacis plates and gun port allow for maximum survivability from turret directed RPGs. Mount on the front for Mine Plow (bearclaws) or mine rollers, and enhanced SEPS style optics for use with the VMAWPs. Vehicle Mounted Automated Weapon Platform, with multi spectrum viewing. This vehicle is experimental and all information is subject to change. Platform: M1A2 HA MBT Internal Components are unchanged. Plans for ammo storage/blow out panels are still in development stages for FBCB2/C2/Rear Guard Ports/etc. This information is UNCLASSIFIED. Distribution is UNRESTRICTED. * BTW the big boxes aren't LOSAT, its Warlock series devices and a rear guard bustle rack for dismounts to guard the flanks from all info I get from the field. This vehicle is not nomenclatured and is not a production version of any platform the Army or USMC will attest to. Its field expedience at its best!* "Brave Rifles! Veterans!
