Seems there's a kerfuffle over this:

OMG a Nazi SS symbol.
First it was a pissing contest now this. Is there a concerted effort going on to tear down and wussify warriors? That's my real topic, not the symbol, which I understand has been used for years in the 0317 Kopfjager community. Nothing new. (Hey, did you know India Indians must be Nazis because that good luck symbol they got sure looks like a Swastika.)

Call me paranoid but I begin to see a concerted effort on the Left and Obamamaniacs to bring the honorable military calling into disrepute. While Obama and Pelosi and Boxer ("don't call me ma'am") and Ruth Bader-Ginsburg are at home shredding the Constittuion and the rights and freedoms your jobs protect.

Or their just buttstupid ponytailbirkenstockwearing code pink ignoramuses.

I wouldn't recommend getting all wrapped around the axle over this. They'll get spanked for the lack of judgement. By now, it should be painfull obvious that the media is looking for ANYTHING to report. These guy's just handed it to them on a silver platter. Much like those other video's getting posted on the net from over there.

Even as a retired Marine, I can easily make the association with the symbol to translate to scout sniper, but the general public cannot and will not. Makes me wonder if the Marines have any Jewish scout snipers? Wonder what they think of that symbol? Would or could they serve in that platoon?

Not trying to detract from your viewpoit bud, it's just that this is yet another bonehead move and they really should have been able to predict the outcome long ago. One thing to have it on a platoon t-shirt, but to make a flag with ONLY that? STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

The Gunny

Dear Lord
So far today, God, I've done alright
I haven't gossiped
I haven't lost my temper
I haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or even over-indulgent.
I'm really glad about that.

But in the next few minutes, God,
I'm going to get out of bed,
AND from then on, I'm probably going to need a lot of your help.

AMEN.....

Every few years this same thing appears in the news. It's always the same. It's been around since the 80s (that I know of, some of my buddies had it tattooed on them). And it made the news back then with the same faux shock, because they know they reported this same story 5-7 years before, and 5-7 years before that, and 5-7 years before that.....

Those dudes are'nt racists. The Waffen SS had one of the best uniforms of WW2. They were regarded as
one of the meanest bag of soldiers on Germanys side. Long before these guys took that silly picture, another group ( Hells Angels ) more or less wore all sorts of Nazi creations, so much in fact that Harley Davidson has created a black helmet designed exactly like The Waffen SS. It's more of a " I'm a badass " deal than Nazi deal. Might be stupid, but that's life in a war zone.
Vietnam soldiers even carried around Nazi garb here and there.

Even our own soldiers helmets are more or less designed as such because it's a great design and it protects more of your head. Simple.

I have to agree with the Gunny on this. It was a stupid display. Since they serve the American people -- they should try to act in a wiser manner.

Who even knows if it's real? I could snag it and run it through the best to get to the bottom of it. But why? It will always be a demanded need for those who have contempt for the military anyhoot.

Pretty sure its authentic, Typhoon.

I suppose somebody will be upset at the German term Kopfjager as well. Did anyone ever register outrage (mostly faux these days) about this?

No, of course not.

Meanwhile the public doesn't get outraged at chaplains being "advised" (= ordered) not to read the ArchBishop's letter about contraception and religious liberty.

Or a government school offical executing unlawful search and seizure, confiscating a four year old's bag lunch prepared by her mom and refusing to let her eat it cos it didn't have a vegetable, giving her chicken nuggets instead and charging mom $1.25 for the school lunch. Mad

Do we really have no freedoms left?

That is a popular symbol of the Scout Snipers. It's just not (in their community) associated with Nazis in any way.

I could run it through the best, but just going by looks, and where the Sun is makes me wonder. Also considering the wrinkles of the blue flag, It should be bent along with the shade like everything else. It's not. If they taped it or had it stitched in, it would bend and be shaded in the same spots as the blue flag. It's not. So it's foam-board, Photoshop or fake.
