A question for all you brain's, If you are a child born to a military family stationed overseas can you still run for president? Is an embassy the only piece of dirt we own or do we own the dirt that we build a military post on?

If the parents are American citizens than the child is automatically.

I don't want to seem stupid but begs the question, if a child is born here but of foreigne parents then the only one that is a US citizen is the child, I take it that you must be born on american soil. Or am I wrong or is this dual citizenship?

No, you are correct, the child born in the US becomes a citizen automatically. Children born overseas by US citizens, have to fill a certificate of birth with the US embasy or consulate to recieve US citizenship. I should know, my father was American Air Force and my mom was British. I am a naturalized US citizen complete with document and seal. I even had the US Embasy form my dad filed. Needed that to get the security clearances.

Had Swartzennegers parents been US Citizens he would have been eligible to run for President.

Yeah paper. Never heard of it? Remember we are speaking of events that occurred back in the day 1940's and 1950's and 1960's. They didn't have desktop computers back then and copy machines didn't exist unless you count mimeograph machines. Geez fax machines hadn't even been invented then.....
