The bottom line is most Republicans and McCain do NOT mix well. Oh he can talk about working on firm beliefs or working with Democrats for the greater good, but he can't fool us. This guy is no " Maverick " and this is not 1968 either. He is nothing more than a ruthless man, nothing more. Save the Maverick stuff for a real Maverick. Whomever he picks as a VP better bring a Harmonica, because they will be singing the blues when Hillary and that other nut win the White House.

So then that leaves John McCain out then right? After all, his whole state is under attack from Mexico and he has NOT shown any resolve. So who put McCain in power of his state? Mexico or a Republican Majority? The MAJORITY DID and it's the majority that have been complaining about it now for 4 years. I suspect he'll pull out a massive photo stock of him with Reagan over the years, but who cares? Me?

TYPHOON you need to get update even though I don't know if John McCain had anything to do with the change but the State of Arizona is the only State that is doing anything about Imigration besides talk.I don't claim to be of Republican Base I just happen to be a Democrate who still cares more for my Country than my Political Party.At the present in the Democrate Party all I see is BS both Obama and Clinton will strip this Country of its Military and the Terroist will swarm over this Country.You better check and see how many Muslim exist in this Country.

You left out California and Texas etc,. I consider political parties the gears of the country. Obama is a fictional post 1968 dope, and Hillary is the luckiest Psycho on the planet. John McCain is a hero but then again so are a whole bunch of people I know. One thing is for sure : None of them are gonna mess with my bank account. As for the terrorists? T hey have been around in one form or another since time began.

What gets me about this election and some of the reponses generated in here is the single overiding factor that isn't taken into much consideration is that we are still at WAR. Alot of folks appear to think that once President Bush leaves office that the war will leave with him. If that were so, don't you think we would have already kicked him out of office as the means to end this war? But the reality is that we are at war and we need someone with the fortitude to wage war. Now Hillary, Obama, Romney, have never experienced war, much less waged war, whereas McCain has. He knows full well what it means having been a POW for how long? Even so, he received far better treatment as a POW during Nam than we can expect from our current antagonist's. Geez, these guy's are still beheading captives, using children and down syndrome women as human bombs. But hey, its not happening in our malls and towns so it don't friggin matter.

And correct me if I'm wrong, Immigration is a FEDERAL not state issue. One single Senator cannot be expected to resolve when an entire government can't even reach a single quantifyable agreement on. Thats such a bullshit lame arguement as I have ever heard.

It is a very small minority of the community. Believe me -- it would be all over the press around here is it were major because they love that kind of controversity.

Gunny I agree but don't forget that not letting gays marry is much more important to some people.

Some people just do not like Mccain's independence and his refusal to follow arbitrary benchmarks.
