Odd that the 2 people that stuck around to raise O'dummy just happened to be the white grandparents of his white mom. I bet his granmother never said what he said she said too. Also, when did BILL RICHARDSON ( cool hispanic name huh? ) become HISPANIC? He does not know squid about being hispanic and growing a BATO goatee won't help. I got more colored friends than both of these TWITS.

Glad thats out there in the open now....just kidding around.

Seriously though, surely you can recognize that this is simply political manuvering on both democratic teams? Don't you think its a little odd at each of the reactions from each group over these what 2 very recent issues? Geez, its like we weren't aware that certain religous organizations speak out against the US government and its policies, with rhetoric that can at times be very inflamitory and had to ignore? Never been to a rural southern baptist church? Much less one with an all black congregation? This isn't new or even really newsworthy, if the media hadn't reported it during a time when Obama was leading the race. Odds on are that the Clinton camp prodded one of thier hacks to look at a video disk of the reverand that mysteriously appeared under thier hotel room door one night last week.

Don't let this get you all worked up over a non-event.

Oh hell I know that, it's just funny how Americans become " groups " of people every 4 years. As for those churches? What a waste of Sunday. Is Jesus even involved anymore or is he banned too? Smiler

OK New to the board, and have read alot of what you have posted gunny...at the risk of being called a flamer/troll/idiot whatever, i must respectfully disagree with this take...

Even if this rhetoric is common in southern baptist churches, does that make it right? America IS the Great Compromise, it IS the Melting Pot (Melding?) whatever...my point is that African-American rhetoric like that is no more good for this country than David Duke and his KKK ties and white supremacy...Why is this such a hot potato? Why in this country are we not willing to call someone out on blatantly racist and sepratist remarks because of skin color? or more appropriately, because of being an African-American? If he believes this guy is ok and this guy is right, the why wont he defend it? Why won't Obama DEFEND his views? Because they are wrong...Just as wrong as segregation, slavery and apartheid, they are NOT American and NOT good for the populous as a whole...I once thought that Obama's "Change" for this country was maybe a good thing, but with all this, now at worst I want to hear it debated and brought to light...I mean if White House aides and real estate deals are worthy of a special investigator, then this is worth at least 30 minutes on Face the Nation...

Agaon I may be out in left field, but cannot see why this is a "non-event"

Thanks for the great board guys!!!

Disagreeing is certainly allowed in here, so no worries there. Personally, as far as Southern Baptists go, I just feel that they weren't held under water long enough. Eeker

To me, from what I have seen in the past couple of weeks, that this is all just fodder for the media and the talking heads on the news. O'bama played the race card right from the start when he announced his run for office. He's making a good showing or so it would appear. The democrates have a real choice to make...put a woman or a black guy into office. Both would be firsts for this nation and who knows, perhaps the time is right for such a change.

What I do know, is that one can't be black in this nation and not hold some form of racial bias. That he's not addressing this reality is probably one of the things that will keep him in the runing. For him to be constantly defending his race would bring about political suicide, and further devide this nations democrates. Hillary is staying as far away for this as she possibly can, and I can't blame her for that.

Hillary has a shot at the oval office. and I voted for her mostly due to the fact that all the rhetoric and crap the democrates posted in here over President Bush's handling of the middle east situation and the post 9-11 events. I for one was damn glad to have him in office when all this occurred. At least he acted in what he felt was our countries best interests. So this time around I did vote for Hillary, if only to give the democrates what they deserve, Hillary in the oval office. Wait a while after she gets in there (if she does) and we'll see the whining begin all over from them.

One other note or point to ponder....campaign promises are seldom ever kept after being elected. A newly elected President just flat out doesn't have the horsepower. That only comes with a series of successes under thier belt. Then and only then can they make an attempt to keep to those promises. Never heard the promises of 'I won't raise taxes, if you vote for me'? I have yet to see that one become fact. As for President Bush and his economic stimulas package with these tax rebates.....Isn't all that money ours to begin with? All those billions came out of what we have already paid into the federal government. I mean, I'll take it, (not really that stupid) but it's not like this is a windfall or free money for us.

Republicans like to spend money, and so do Democrates, but for way different reasons or causes. Republicans support big business. Can't really fault them there. Business is what moves this country along. Democrates tend toward social programs. That's not a bad thing, and its too bad we can't have both happen at the same time. Problem being is there is only so much money to go around. This is why the Social Security and Medicare programs are gonna fail in a few years. Both are just big ol piggy banks stuffed with IOU's.

Anyhow, welcome to the site! Brews are on you cheer

Beers definitely on me...Only it has to wait until i get back from Ft. Sill Smiler ...Shipping on 20080409 for basic...

I agree that Hillary has a shot. although with the constant bickering and infighting within the Dem pary, it is getting longer and longer each day.

Ironically, my biggest support of McCain is from the fact that he was ostrocized(sp) almost form the Rep party over the War and 9/11. Even W hassaid thatMcCain needs to prove to the conservative faithful his alleigance. I am a moderate which makes every election a pain in the rear Smiler I am neither ALL big business nor ALL social reform...probably most closely, and i say this hesitantly, most align with the Libertarian platform. p Personal accountability and regualtion seem to be foreign to alot of people these days. Thomas Jefferson is my idea of who EVERY presidential candidate should be.

Look forward to those beers after basic!!!!!

The Clinton's are GOONS. The White House is a quest with that nutty family. Once Obama beats them they will both go completely insane. Bill will admit he has a chick on the side and Hillary will admit she has a chick on the side too. Eeker

Well it appears that Obama has already tamed the shrew, or so it seems. It's very doubtful that short of an Act of God she is going to overtake Barack Obama. That only leaves him and McCain.

I don't believe any of the candidates are suited to be commander-in-chief. They're all either socialists or they want to play "big brother." In my humble opinion, the only real American (and sensible) choice is Ron Paul.

Liberals want government to be your mommy, Conservatives want government to be your daddy, and libertarians want government to treat you like an adult.
