Why would you want to?

Top Gun,
I'm doing B2G right now. My last day in the AF is 22 Jan and swear into the Army on the 23rd. I have orders to Ft. Sill to go to the four week Basic Officer Leardership (Direct Commission) Course. Next I go to Ft. Gordon for classes for the Signal Corps. When all is said and done I have a job in FA40 (Space Ops) and will probably go to Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs.
As for "why would you want to" blame the stupidity of the AF. They gave me the shaft after 13 years of faithfull service. I fell victim to the RIF (Reduction In Force) but I refuse to act like a victim. It's time to stop being an Airman and become a Soldier. I look forward to my time in the Army. AF folks I know who have been deployed with FA40 people say they have a lot of great oportunities and it's a great job. I'm thankful the Army will let me continue my military career.

Congrats on what you are doing! Keep us appraised on how the transition works for you. I think you'll find being an Army Officer will be an eye opening experience for you and look forward to some observations.

Think it'll be a little different being assigned to an Air Force Base as an Army Officer?
