After 12.5 years in the AF it looks like they don't need me anymore. I've been RIFed (Reduction In Force) because those who control manning can't pull there head out. Anyway, I was 6 years prior enlisted in cruise missile maintenance. I went to OTS and have been in ICBMs ever since. I have clean record and have taken on many additional duties to include different teaching postions. I also had orders to teach at the ICBM schoolhouse which are now gone. I even made sure to complete my masters degree. Does anyone have any experience going Blue to Green on the officer side of the house. I know the Army has a space and missile program and would be a great field to work in. I also have my TS clearance for my present job. Any thoughts for a Captain about to lose his job? Thanks.

No personal experience with this, just an opinion. You appear to have all the qualifications and would be a considerable asset to any military command you choose to apply for. I say go for it. If you want to stay USAF-- USAF HUMINT is making a comeback. Actually looking for people vice RIF. Sounds like you'd be qualified.

Going green is a huge mistake unless they let you smoothly transition, usually you have to be "initiated" to go from blue to green, enlisted have to go through "warrior training" which is hazing. The AF is the most professional branch of the military, the army has alot of idiots and people who cant think for themselfs. If they will let you just switch the tape on your uniform and go to work it might not be to bad, its up to you though

Boy I sure seem to make alot of good points and know what im talking about for being a troll almost like I was in the military once and got out because of people like harryP who think that by being in the military it somehow elevates there status in society and makes them "honorable" when in reality they are the same piece of crap that they were when they joined. Your either a piece of crap or your not and your military affiliation has nothing to do with your personal character.

Your lack of moral or ethical standards is what offends me – along with your general personality (fat-assed whiner).

so by his own logic, rrpearso himself was a piece of crap even before he joined, and he not only knew it going in, he admits it now!

And, an apology to Mountain Cat for messing up his thread. It happens when the local village idiot barges in.
I know nothing about it, but Army buddy of mine was in the Patriot Missile forces. Might also be something you'd be qualified/interested in? |
