Don't know if there are waivers, there's an Army recruiter that sometimes comes on this board, he might be able to answer the question. Was (coincendentally) emailed this article today:
"The Army's recruitment success nationwide came about after it added about 1,000 recruiters, increased the maximum enlistee age from 35 to 42, doubled the maximum enlistment bonus and offered soldiers $1,000 to refer a friend. They've also allowed more enlistees from the least-qualified recruits." http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/local/states/...necrest/15203793.htm |

Because he WANTS to serve again. It that concept too much for you to understand? The opportunity to make a difference in the world is a powerful draw for many. He's been there, done that before, and KNOWS what he wants.
Besides,''The Army is more flexible now,'' Otero-Muniz said. And then there are the benefits, including up to $72,000 for college after four years of service, up to $40,000 in cash bonuses, 30 days of paid vacation a year, free tuition for college courses taken on Army bases, medical and dental insurance and skills training in more than 150 specialties. Who wouldn't want to take advantage of benefits like those? (besides yourself) SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |

I just wonder why people would want to join at 44. Of course if he has already been in he should be able to go back at his original rank and skip past the dog and pony show of basic and AIT. Keep in mind gunny that the full benfits only kick in if the stars align, but everyone gets something. I certently would not want to go through the IET training at 44 unless I was in bowflex spokes person shape. Who am I kidding I could not do the mental games but the physical was still rough.

rppearso the benefits are there for those that wish to take advantage of them. All they have to do is live up to their end of the contract.

people joining is perpetuating the problem, if very few joined it would send a message to washington.

it would force a vietnam style draft and bring this nation to it knees or force the government to deal with the problem they created correctly.

See, rppearso, I found a troll tool to deal with trolls, a random quote generator especially filled with phrases made for know-it-all morons. From now on the only keystrokes I waste on you are "Ctrl C" "Ctrl V" |

rppearso, why would it be foolish for any american to want to protect his/her country? What do you know of the Vietnam draft? what makes you think that would happen? What kind of message would it send? The same kind of message that the Democrates send every day. I guess as patoloco says that the way to deal with trolls is to keystroke them but I like my way better.

I'm 38yrs old and spent 3yrs in the TXNG, I then spent 2yrs in the Marine Corps. I seperated with an RE-Code 3P but received a waiver for the Navy and did 1.5yrs, I seperated with an RE-Code 3G KVF (breach of contract). I have a waiver for an RE-Code with the Army and TXNG. My question what are the chances for an approval and how long should it take. Any help would be great.

your active federal service time is subtracted from you age, the Army's new age limit of 42 will allow re-entry, no wavier is required for that reason, theres I found where you can get pre qualified they have a form you fill out and they tell you if you can go or not. www.exrecruitertells.com
