hey, my friend joined the army and she has her physical tomorrow. THe only problem is she has bad shoulder problems. Her bones grind together when she moves them, she lifted a barbell the other day to do shoulder excerses, but couldnt finish because she was in pain. She is a really tough girl and tends to push herself way past the limit. I know shes not going to let them know she has problems. Can they find out through the physical that she does and not let her in? I really dont want her going and getting seriously hurt so I'm kind of hoping they will

If she cant do the physical work than she is just putting herself and others at risk.
She should tell them of the problem and see what they say. |

i'm not sure what she can and cant do right now. I kno that lifting that dumbell to do the shoulder exercises killed her though. And she is probably getting her physical as we speak and i know she wont say anything. She wants this so bad and she isnt gonna let her shoulder get in her way. I think shes being stupid about it thought

They will find out and that may make it worse if after she goes in and she gets hurt or someone else gets hurt or worse. She must tell them before it gets that far.

yea i dont know what to do any more. She passed the test and got in. She keeps telling me that shes fine and if she thought it was that bad she wouldnt do it, but i think its just her want for it so bad that is blinding her. I found out that she lied on some of the questions on the health questionaire. She should have responded yes to a few of them, but put no instead. What i tho0ught was pretty interesting though, was when i confronted her about it she said she just did what the recruiter told her to do, answer no for all the questions

not much to be done about it now. that recruiter did her and the nation a serious disservice in coaching her to do that. in the not too distant future, you'll see what I mean.

Gunny's right but I find it hard to believe the recuiter told her to lie, I might be wrong. I think this will come back to bite her in the butt. I hope it works out for her.

I think it'll come back to bite her as well. But when I try to talk to her about it, she just thinks i'm trying to get her to back out, when all im doing is caring and wanting her to get it fixed before she goes in and its too late

I agree with some the answers above and have a bad feeling about all this. Hope that during basic training they will notice her problems and send her home. It makes no sense for her to stay. Your fiend is obviously not a princess but will become a burden on her fellow soldiers.
