I have been doing some research on 68w and I know what all the websites have to say about it. But I was wondering what any current or past medics have to say about it. Do you enjoy what you do? What don't you enjoy? Anything you would have wanted to change?
I am considering joining the army and I just wanted to get some input from other people. I am an EMT-B right now, but because of where I am right now, I cannot work in the civilian sector. This line of work is something I have had a burning desire to do for years but just haven't been able to. The only other post I saw about medics didn't really have too much meat to it, so I figured I would see if anyone else had some more input. Thanks |

It may be kind of vague, but check out GoArmy.com and research 68W, and also you can research some on the old MOS title of 91W. It should provide some answers regarding standardized training. As for some other things the medics do, it depends on assignment. They all undergo EMT training, as well as Combat Lifesaver's Course, and Combat Trauma courses. There is more to it of course. Check out Fort Sam Houston's website, its the Medical Corps' HQ. They might provide some valuable insight. Also, check in with your local recruiting station, and ask to speak with an AMEDD recruiter, as they are all in the Medical Corps. Army Strong, and good luck.
