Having good grammer would not change the fact that you would be fighting with swords were it not for civilians (ie engineers, scientists, etc).
I dident know Marines were actually issued swords still I thought that was for show on TV commercials and for niche units. |

Last time I checked harryP some of the highest tech technology was developed by civilians. I will give you "maybe" single shot ball rifles or cannon balls but when you start talking F-117's or M-1A2 battle tanks, its all civilian.

But you did say that beyond the sword. If you knew some military history and what causes the greatest percentage of casualties during war – you might change your opinion.

Anyone can provide the specifications that they want, its making thoes specifications into a real machine or piece of technology that is the hard part and more importantly the part that is done primarily by civilians.

I dont know maybe im missing something, maybe not, the bottem line is I dont like to be talked down to or yelled at and the army does a very good job at both so I would not go from blue to green, I dont really care about the regs or anything else I just dont like having a crap quality of life which is what the army provides. Thats my opinion.

Thats OK, mostly because you never made it into the blue on the military's dime.

hmm, im not sure what that has to do with anything.
Everyone and there brother lined up to join as a pilot so it makes sense that I dident get in. The oil industry is much better and pays way better, that way I can buy my own plane and do my own thing. Its all a matter of supply and demand, the airforce has the best quality of life so the most want to join and the army and marines have the worst so they have to have huge bonuses to entise people to join. The really sad thing is that the army doesnt have to be that way, the command choses it to be that way. |

We don't give huge bonuses to join the Marines. We do however give bonuses to keep proven Marines.

most people who have bad things to say about the army, had a bad situation {exsperiance} in the army. I did three tours 1st. Army 2nd USMC and 3rd Navy..hated the Navy but becouse I am a soldier not a sailor but would recommend Navy to anybody...all in all you have to WANT the military life to like it, HELL I went back in the Army 2 weeks ago, HELL I love the military life..I adjust real well can't get enough of it..Plus did all three BOOTS and never failed. The military is not set up to fail you but to propell you into the future.

In reference to the "sword" conversation. I thought the Officers in the Corps received the Mameluke Sword, but I thought NCOs in the Corps receive the 1848? Cavalry Sabre??
