Stierlitzz.1.Go to the local US Consulate and apply (remember that you need a US sponsor who takes care of you if you run out of money)2. If you get accepted, you get a green card and can fly to the US. 3. Go to the recruiter of your choice and apply, pass the tests and wait for your background investigation to go through 4. When that is done he will notify you and you go through basic training if you pass the medical. You cannot become an Officer (or Warrant Officer)) in the US Services unless you are a US citizen.5. After 3 years of honorable Service you can apply for US citizenship early. 6. If you make it you can apply for pilot Warrant Officer training. Remember that you cannot become a commissioned Officer (Lieutenant and up) unless you have a College degree from a reputable US University and participated in and graduated from ROTC (Officer Training Corps)at that University. So you see it isn't easy and very selective.

And can I apply for some exception to get a green card, if I want to serve in US military?
Thanks |

I don't believe so. Because to join you must first immigrate. In other words: If you go to the US as a tourist and walk into a recruiter's office to join, he will reject you because you are not an immigrant. The US military is not the foreign legion.

Like we said, get the green card first and go from there.

Stierlitz look at this way: If all the people in the world who want to immigrate to the USA tell the Consulate 'I want to join the US military' just to get a green card easier, there would probably be a lot of immigrants to the USA, but very few would actually join....

Leon and Stierlitz: You guys must understand that immigrating to the US is not as easy as you two think. Even if you tell the Consular Officer 'I want to work in the US' does not work for the green card. If, however, you have have a letter from a reputable company that says that they will employ you when you come, that may work. In other words: YOU MUST HAVE A SPONSOR who pays for you if you run out of money. The US is not Germany or the Czech Republik. I know that millions of people come to the US illegally and by other various dubious means (churches, false relatives etc.)and get away with it. But they can't join the military.

Dont worry i know what it takes I talked personaly to recruiters. And I one pastor can have word for me or be my sponsor. And I understand how you feel about imigrants. Its just that my time in the US felt more like home then in my own.
