OK, I've got one more hoop to jump through. I passed all aspects of my physcial except one flag came back on my cholesterol level. The value was 186. I know that anything under 200 is desirable. My cholesterol has been around this value for over 15 years (my 42nd birthday is January 26) and has been consistent with no large changes in either direction. According to my recruiter, who doesn't know much about processing over 40 guys, the army considers my value high. My recruiter was vague but basically said he submitted a waiver request. He couldn't tell me what the Army defined as high. I will be very grateful for someone to shed any light for me on this subject. Is this type of waiver easy to get? All other aspects of my physical were very good (I was actually commended by the MEPS physician for some of the test results for a dude my age). Will other parts of my recruitment process be considered, such as my ASVAB score of 97?

Thanks again for your responses.

The military does not use standard medical practices as to what is normal in a physical, they have invented there own medical standards (and I would question anything technical that the military redefines) standard medical practices are standard for a reason. I would suggest you google it, google knows more than most recruiters.
