Today I swore in and got 19D but really wanted to get Airborne with option 40 (Rangers), unfortunately because of a waiver they would not offer me what I wanted. My recruiter told me that after basic and ait that I could apply for Airborne and then Rangers and even get my secret clearance but I believe I'm being sold a pipe dream to make me happy now. Is this the truth and if so how easy is it to make this switch and get into the schools? I also have a Ged with an asvab score of 84.
