i know this has been asked before. probably more than most of you would care to have seen. to be honest my recruiter said it would be no problem for me to get my clearance but i have heard elswere that i probably would not get it. my problem being my credit, at a 495 not that but the bat part is what is on it. valuntary repo from a year and a half ago, 2 credit cards that got charged off 1 year ago,and a cell phone bill from about 2 years ago. i know its not good but the truck and the 2 credit cards i lost after i lost my job and had to take another with less pay and could not afford them anymore. Also my recruiter told me that when i go to MEPS they will tell me if i have no chance at getting my clearance to give me a chance to find another MOS, is this true or not.
thx all |

previous thread on credit problems and secruity clearances
Just try to ignore what our resident drain baby rrpearso says and you'll be able to make sense of it. He thinks its his mission in life to keep everyone out of the military because he got his feeling hurt in boot. Like gunny said try hard not to pay any mind to the resident troll, I never had any problems with my secret clearance while in the army for 21 years and I had a bad time once with my credit score and I never lost mine.

Good luck, I hope you are not one of the ones in basic that get recycled because your security clearance does not go through. Or they try to manipulate you into changing your MOS when you have had 4 hrs of sleep becasue "something" is wrong with your clearance. Im waiting for someone to come back on here that got majorly jerked around and tell me what a wind bag I am

dont worry about me MR. WIND BAG, i have 3kids and 2jobs so 4 hours of sleep would be kind of nice change from the 2 hours that i have been used to for the last three years. Besides i love my country and will do anything to make sure that my kids can grow up with the same libertys that i did. I forgot to mention that i have already been to basic- fort benning- in 2000 and had to come home after 6 and a half weeks because my wife had a misscariage with our first child, and had to be discharged due to family hardships after i was home. Now that the army is good enough to let me take back my chance to serve i will do anything i have to do to get my chance. So even if i dont get my clearance for 18x, i will take what ever mos i qualify for.
