Hi all,

I reciently exited the USN after 17years, honorably. Went to my local VA and applied for benifits, and was told that "You made too much money last year to qualify..."
When in hell did the country decide to refuse to recognize veteran's that made more then x$?? This is a direct kick in the balls as far as I am concerned, and I am trying to understand why. If you have any idea, please post.

Thanks,

V/r,
Briggs

Not sure, but I believe there was some verbage concerning those that leave the service before a full 20 year retirement. There are benefits, but there may be certain criteria along the lines they gave you. You should ask what are the specific cutoff amounts that will allow you to get benefits? I could be wrong though?

The income requirement has been in effect for years. I can remember having to justify using the VA in the mid 1970s and it seemed to be that way for everyone (except those who retired after 20)unless they had an existing condition.

Its called taking it in the rear without lube, recognizing your mistake (in this case to be associated with the military) and move on. I made the same mistake to join the national guard, luckily I caught on before I stepped on a plane to anywhere after I returned from basic. We are witnessing the down fall of a nation, just make sure you have a currant passport and keep putting money in the bank (and building skills so you can imigrate easily) so when the time comes you wont find yourself getting kicked in the balls again. Im not saying be paranoid just be aware and ready. We may be able to recover from this administration and the currant military mind set and bring in an administration that does some good and rebuild the military on the premis of commrodery instead of fear, intimidation and hazing. We just have to make sure to get out of germany (metaphoricaly speaking) before the trains come (also metaphoricaly speaking)
