The war ended in 1865, get over it.

1. I am an advocate of states rights, but i do not view the idea of states rights to be a matter of states governing themselves to the extent that they are a loosly affiliated nation-state, which it seems to me you are sdvocating. Like it or not we are one nation nad that means that although I believe that states should have the right to govern the day to day lives of their state, it is still required that they operate within national (federal) guidlines, thus ensuring that we are one nation of by and for the people. The only thing I will add is for this to work it means the federal Gov. needs to make its guidelines fairly loose and stay the hell out of the business of day to day lives of the people. In essence the left and right lateral limits of what is federally "acceptable" must remain strictly in place but far enough apart to leave losts of lee way for states to choose their own course.

iono rlly, i never thought dividing our nation by means of self governed states is such a great idea. as far as states governing themselves in a mean of isolatinism from the rest of the country. whole reason for a national government was to prevent this i believe. if states governed themselves and and nothing else was then we might as well call ohio, tennessee, waqshington..ect seperate countries. imagine the results of such a seperation. this wouldn't be the U.S., just a divided land.

he wants to make it 'States of America', verses 'United States of America'.

It is true our states should take more responsibility in their own affairs than continuously relying on Federal aid and grants all the time, on the other hand, our states don't need to become a third world country than a nation of one. The title "The United States of America" needs to remain "The United States of America!"

States governing themselves
Yes, as long as the American people have a say that reside in the particular states of issues. No government high or low should ever have enough power to overthrow the will of it's people! We are falling into that threat already! We the people have little say anymore, and it's true and scary to say the least! Something, maybe a miracle needs to happen before it's too late! Too many laws and violations to our freedoms and rights are occurring without any vote from the people, laws that are being passed by minority group influences & politicians! The people should have the say & decisions and be able to run the country for the best interest of everyone, not just a selected few, do away with the political & government bully tactics!! Yet, people re-elect their representatives over and over again.
My area is so strongly Republican that Democrats vote in the Republican primary to have some influence on the candidate because that is who will be elected and I am sure that that happens in the other direction in other areas. The only difference in Republicans and Democrats is how they interfere in our lives. "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |

The biggest thing I see with Republicans and Democrats is the politics they all play.
It would be nice if both would consider what our American people need instead of what more politicians need. It would be nice if both parties would consider allowing our people to ok some of the bills they pass without any regard as to how it will effect us or at least have the opportunity to vote on some of these issues they come up with.
