The Lee County Red Cross in Alabama is hosting the 2009 Heroes Take Flight Fly-in on March 14, 2009, at the Auburn-Opelika Robert G. Pitts Airport in Auburn, AL, and we think that being featured on your website’s calendar of events or in your publication would be a great way to get the word out and get support for our cause. The event honors veterans and will include several attractions including: vintage and experimental airplanes; warbirds and military vehicles; parachutists; helicopter rides; veterans' hospitality area; and other activities for the whole family. Tickets are $5 in advance, $8 at the gate, and $2 for children. All veterans that pre-register by January 30, 2009, will receive free entry and a special gift. Proceeds go to benefit the Red Cross with services including: disaster education and relief; services to armed forces; blood collection; and health and safety education.
