Hello,

I am a 14 year old freshman at York High in York, Maine. I am organizing a race to fund research and raise awareness of Hepatitis C. My father contracted this disease through a blood transfusion that he received during military service. He is now awaiting a liver transplant that the VA has refused to pay for.
The economic impact of this disease in the coming years is staggering. Most people who have the disease are unaware of it until it places them in a critical health situation. Research and awareness are mandatory in this disease.
