So I am in my Lancer flying an all-nighter over Basra, taking out some bunkers, mg nests, barracks, motor pools, etc. As a stealth bomber pilot I never see anyone else around me. I am 55,000 ft. in the air and the only sounds are my breathing, my engines, and the wind. Suddenly my radar shows a blip approaching fast vectoring out of the Northeast. No id, no contact, nothing. I contact the plane asking the usual questions of what it is and stuff. The answer I get is my comp telling me that I got a missile locked onto me. So I drop right, release my flares, and put on full afterburner. I start doing my evasion tactics which aren't much. I get on my radio and call out that I am being pursued. Luckily there was a Raptor flying not too far from me. The enemy plane which I now identified as a Su-27 Flanker, a very powerful, thrust vectoring Russian fighter, unleashes its 20mm cannons on me. It flies over me and comes around for a zero-deflection shot. I knew I was screwed. Suddenly though, the Raptor shoots through a cloud and obliterates the Flanker with an Aspect missile. I flew back to my base in Kuwait early. When I got out I counted about 17 nice neat holes in my plane. Close calls for sure. Major Kyle Johnson will always be credited with saving my hide.

Back in the days when I was a staff seargent flying a Tomcat in the Gulf War I almost crashed actually. I was flying a search and destroy mission in a small town near the Kuwaiti border. There was a motor pool in the town that had a couple BMP's and a over 15 T-72's. I flew in high and over the target coming down on it. I dropped 2 1000 pound bombs at it then began to turn up and away. A huge explosion rocked me from a destroyed fuel tank and I came through some smoke and almost hit a building head on.

That's for sure and lancer in real life you owe me a new Keyboard because I spilled my coffee all over this one and I just paid 60.00 BUCKS for it when I found out you only had to be a Staff Sergeant to fly Tomcats.

I seriously hope ur joking. Unfortunately the Tomcat's been retired. They got them in museums and stuff but... My favorite plane of all to fly was the SR-71. That thing was so fast it was untouchable. I flew that up until I got transferred to the Lancer in 01.

I did the same thing when I found out you could fly if you were enlisted and that the navy switched to the same enlisted ranks as the other 3 branches.. -------------------------------- Former C/Sgt: MCJROTC (2006-2008). Enlisting in the USMC August 5th 2010 (my 17th B-Day). Future 0311 (Infantryman) If you wont stand behind our troops feel free to stand in front of them. Every time someone votes Obama on election day, the Bill of Rigts will be in an ounce of more jeopardy. |

He said he was a Staff Sergeant flying a Tomcat, Tomcat is a Navy fighter and Staff Sergeant isn't a Navy rank and I don't think you can fly if you're enlisted..

Squid...Your follow up is correct and it is a fact Enlisted men can't fly. The USN has a program for E-5 and up meeting and passing Quals for Warrent Officer enableing them to fly Rotor Wing the same as Army & Marine Corps.

You are really lucky to get off on just one aircraft generaly when I do air battle the whole top of the radar screen is flash out and that is the ones on top there are just as many below radar.
Usualy I wait until the missile is close enough to see the tail fins then turn they have a slower recovery and miss try to relock like a blind sidewinder rattle snake and chase off at the same one who fired it or their allied. I hear a lot of whooooo shiiiit on the radio when this happens. A dream to some and a nightmare to all others. |

The 'opie' (Originating Poster) of this 'comic book' fantasy has been grounded indefinitely...
His BHG (Brain Housing Group) got in the way of his snotlocker and he is suffering from a terminal case of 'Cranial-Rectal Inversion'... Efforts by the nearest Hospital Corpsman resulted in a chemical reaction, resulting in a reversal in this overall intellectual insensibilities. The Road of Life does not require a map to follow directions. Plan wisely. |
