I hear artillery coming in, I walk backwards with lyrics note pad and pencil in hand looking up into the air to see where the bombs were going to hit. The first one drops about 20 feet behind me explodes dirt and grass blows on me, I pass out. Next thing I remember a V.C stepping on my chest my eyes pop open it is night. V.C are walking on dead bodies. V.C picks up the note pad off my chest. A camera flash then drops the pad back on me.

I woke up about a week later. Radio still working I call in; code name STRANGER situation DESPERATE, IN NEED OF A HELPING HAND. Can you fly me out? Radio strangers voice --- gasp .... someones alive! ..... Are you free? no VC setting us up? --- Yes .... free ... just me. Stranger informs helicopter pilot. HUMAN DANCING FREE pickup, prepare yourself for something horrible. PICTURE WHAT WILL BE so you don't go into shock a slaughter of us.
Nervous pilot chats on radio arrives witness the slaughter, frantic states he could not picture it in his mind. I brought a book to read in my spare time a complex ancient ROMAN book that did not fit into the WILDERNESS of Nam. Co Pilot assistant ask: your only about a 10 year old kid what are you doing in Nam? ---- Are you insane?... Yes sir; .... that is correct..... ALL OF US CHILDREN ARE INSANE. Pilot mention all of this is a DESPERATE LAND call in for a pickup before you are the only one left.

Night falls a cricket chirps. Jungle screams with insects and animal noise. V.C tip toe in sandals and thongs. Chopping noise from their machete blades on wounded soldiers. One soldier eludes bayonet rifle V.C circle him. Fights them with knife. He yells; come on baby, **** me baby as V.C lounge rifle bayonets into him, he cries yeah, yeah. Another wounded soldier hear him silence yells Chair, Chair, Chair. I still traumatize by bomb blast cannot move even to close my eyes.
