What do you get for a military person who seems to have everything? Whether for special occassions, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or promotions it can be hard sometimes to choose that special gift for a military person.
Mahogany wood plaques would be a great idea of gifts to friends, family and relative who serves in military. Different kinds of plaques, emblems and logos are great addition to their collections and memorabilia. Plaques are one of the quality products of www.militaryplaques.com. What's more amazing is that they can manufacture from a fully customize artwork and then set-up is free of charge! See this link: http://www.militaryplaques.com/Military … m-Made.htm |

Mayca, the greatest gifts for military guys are paraphernalia that they actually came in contact with during their duty. This may be a scarf while flying, or a brass casing that he fired or even the remnants of a ration that they ate. In short, stuff that no one thinks about but still brings back memories. To top it all, have it engraved, stitched whatever with names, dates and places.

Definitely, Mastertanker's idea is also a great suggestion if family members out there were still undecided on what to give to their love ones.
How about giving them a gift as remembrance when they serve, like desk nameplates, they're squadron;battalion logo carved in a wood, or even shadow boxes when they retire? Would you think this is something they will cherish and thank you for a lifetime? |

Mastertanker, I think you hit the nail on the head. I noticed you guys also dig videos related to the wars you fought. Like my beloved gpa Ken loved ww2 videos as it was his favorite war he served in.

Liza, yes i know that's what they want because I wanted that kind of memorabilia. I have in my livingroom a brass 105mm shell that I fired in Grafenwöhr Germany way back when. My wife decorates it with dry flowers and reeds and it looks neat. I had my old field jacket with gunnery patches, personal tank helmet etc. but donated them to the FT. Knox Patton museum in the meantime. And a short belt of spent .50 cal. shells, much like what you hold in your hand. It is also possible to get less controversial things from the military (belts, helmets, ammo pouches + boxes etc.) by simply saying you have lost them and end up paying for them. Wives need to get with their husband's friend to get at that stuff. |

Mastertanker... I had the good fortune of going up near Tooele Army Base in Utah this last weekend and meeting a guy that restores Tanks and other WW2 equipment and took a ride in a M-18 Hellcat he got that machine up to 50 miles an hour and made some fast and short moves he said it would actually out run a M1 A1 Abrams.

I though that sex was the best gift because it is much fun to give as it is to receive.

Sully at least you rode in a tank. The only ship I was ever on was a luxury cruise up the Norway coast to Kirkenes and another one through the Mediterranean. Ah yes, I had a motor boat in NC but got stuck on sandbanks and once the motor failed way out off shore. My wife lost the nerves for it after that. |
