Nine years ago a went to Basic Training as a very immature kid. I admit I was not even mature for my age. I recieved an Entry Level Performance and Conduct Discharge with a RE Code 3 and Seperation Code JGA. Since that time I recieved a two year college degree got my life in order and have been working for a Level One Trauma Hospital for almost four years. I recieved five letters of Recomendation from Doctors, etc. My lowest ASVAB line score was a 124. I am trying to get into the Army Radiology Specialist or Healthcare Specialist course. I have worked in Anesthesia Support (counting clinicals) for five years. What are my honest chances of my Waiver being approved? I turned in all of my paper work on 2006/06/16.
I want another chance to serve my Country. If I could go back and do it all over I would have toughed it out. I wrote a letter on my behalf also stating that I was immature at the time of enlsitment. I am a much different person now. One of my letters of rec. came from a USAF Flight Surgeon whos rank is Captain. Anybody have any input? |

It's hard to really tell. What did your recruiter say? I've seen waivers for worse get approved, so you may have a shot at getting back in.

My Recruiter said he did not see any problems. A funny side story is that when I was emailing USAREC I emailed VP Dick Cheney and put in an email what I wanted to do and that I screwed up before. I got the usual "we ge a million emails we probably wont respond thank you!" The other day I check my mail and I have a letter from the Office of The VP of the US. One of his aides sent me a letter saying that they were forwarding my info to the Dept of Defense to reopen my case and that they (Dick Cheney's office) wanted a copy of the results sent to them. I really want to do this. Not for money, that is not a real problem. But because I know that I can do this and I want to make a difference.

Well, just a bit of un update to my waiver process. My Recruiter called and I have to go in the morning to give them a copy of my HS diploma, they are sending for my college transcripts, and a copy of my SS card. I hope this is a good thing. My waiver packet was submitted a week ago.
What does everyone think? Approved or not? |
