No and no. You'll get a sign up bonus based on the job skill you choose (some have them, some don't) and the length of time you're willing to sign for. There might be some service differences, but that's the way it is in the USMC.

You really need to speak to the recruiter of the branch of service you are interested in. They have those types of answers. CavScout is our only active duty recruiter in here for the Army.

Usually the more difficult the job is the higher the bonus. They dont tend to offer high bonuses for accounting clerks but your PJ's CCT's etc have a huge signing bonus.

Also, jobs that have a problem with keeping people will have a signing bonus and usually a re-enlistment bonus. 3C0's in the AF had a big signing bonus and re-enlistment bonus because people would join for the bonus, get some qualifications then take those and the experiance to the civilian side. But they are trying to kick us out now so both are gone
