This might be a dumb question but is the Air Force Reserve the same "concept" as the Army Reserve, where as you are part time Air Force but still keep your civilian job, and also go for training one weekend every month? And also in the Reserves you still go to Basic Training for 6 weeks after enlisting, correct?

Pretty sure your assumptions are correct. All the reserve forces have pretty much the same deal. Talk to USAF recruiter, they can probably fill you in on details. I have a son interested in joining the USAF, he's got a few answers from their online "advisor":
