Hello,
I will provide with some basic information concerning myself. I am 23-years old student (Faculty of Law), I've almost got my degree. My nationality is Polish.
I am interested in joining the US Army, but the only obstacle is the requirement of having a green card.
At the moment I am during the process of obtaining the legal job in the USA, and at the beginning of July I am going to the USA.
I really want to start the enlisting procedure.
Is it possible, after a few month of legal job in the USA, to join the US Army.
Or, another alternative, if my endeavours to get the label/work visa would be fruitless is there any opportunity to start the enlisting procedure with the student visa (work&travel, 4 months)?
I am really willing to do that. I've spend more than a year preparing for the physical test.
My command of English is very good. By the end of May I will have got the TOEFL Certificate.
Maciek

PLEASE, PROVIDE ME WITH CLUES, HELP ME

P.S. I would like to go either Iraq or Afghanistan (is it possible after basic training?)

The basic qualifications for enlistment in the U.S. Army include:

• being from 17 to 34 years old
• be a U.S. citizen or resident alien, (must have the I-551)
• have a high school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED)
• be single with no children or married with 2 or less children
• pass the ASVAB test and
• pass the physical

You should also not be undergoing any civil actions; certain law violations will disqualify you.

You are not required to have a High School Diploma.

There are also weight and physical fitness requirements that must be met in order to join the U.S. Army.

Do you meet or exceed ALL of these requirements?

I am meeting almost all of the requirements above
1. I am 23 years old (YES)
2. U.S. citizen or resident alien (NO)
3. University education (lawyer)(YES)
4. single, no spouse (YES)
5. ASVAB (no big problem)(YES)
6. physical (no problem)(YES)

As I mentioned in my post, I do not meet the basic requirement of being a U.S. citizen or resident alien.
The only existing hope is the fact that there are opportunities to get the green card, maybe finding a legal job in the USA can increase my chances? GENERALLY that's the only problem.
Write any thoughts, ideas concerning point 2.
Thank you for an immediate replay

I spoke with officials in the Embassy in Warsaw, and they informed that "there is no special treatment for candidates for the US Army, standard procedure".
I need the Green Card, maybe somehow I can get it directly form the Army.
Have you ever heard about such precedence?
Maybe such possibility exists?
