Hello, I got a discharge from the Navy DEP a little while ago and was wondering how hard it would be to get into the Air Force, or back into the navy?
I had an asvab score of 85, if that helps you answer my question any easier.

There were some contract problems (didn't want a 6 year contract and I signed up for one) and to further my education with web design.
I am not sure if I want to try to get into them, I would just like to know if i would have the option. I would definately like to get into the navy or air force reserve once i'm 21 though, if i dont go into active duty before that.

Information Technology, should have got it from the start, but I decided to sign a contract for AECF, because I'm an idiot. (there was pressure from the guy who was writing the contract to do AECF, and the signing bonus sounded good too)

Then I tried to get it changed to IT and couldn't because it was full.

Web.. in the first place when you go back to a Recruiter don't let him bully you.If you have the ability to get in either Rate mentioned you should be able to go any where. In the first place the IT Rate is pretty closed because Civilans handle most of that type of work AECF & IT are completly different jobs. What kind of job do you want not the Rate but what kind of job in Civilan world.( By the way Web maybe (thegunny) one of our members does Military Computer control work he might explain.( by the way don't yell he is not only a Retired USMC Gunny but he might have a hangover. And don't go to the same Recruiting Office and you might be able to hook up but you better tell the other Recruiter what the other guy tried because the Computer is going to tell the story anyway.

I'd like to do something with computers. Maybe an administrator, or web designer. Or both.

Whoa, a retired marine with a hangover. Sounds scary Eeker lol

Thanks a lot for the help and advice Big Grin
