I'm only 15 now but want to join (either the Marines or Army) once I graduate high school. I just was wondering whether there were any 92M's (Mortuary Affairs Specialists) or 37F's (Psychological Operations Specialists) out there that could give me some insight on those jobs?

I'm prior serivce and have just rejoined the Army as a 92M. It's funny that you ask about both of these becouse I would love to be in "PsyOps" (37F) but you are required to speek a forign language and I've never been up to that. I don't think you are requred to know one when you join but you will have to take a test called the DLAB to see if you can learn a new language, then you will be sent to learn one.
You're only 15, I would try to start learning one now, even if you just get a book on a language. Of course, if you can learn a middle eastern language all the better. It used to be If you knew Russian you were cool. For 92M go to this site to start you out http://usmilitary.about.com/library/milinfo/arjobs/bl92m.htm If you wnat to ask me anything else post here or send me a personnel e-mail at hikingmike+militaryforum@gmail.com |

Regardless of what MOS you pick, learning a foreign language would be a huge bonus for you. Recruiters will be more willing to work with you on the details of your enlistment and your choics will increase exponentially.
Arabic would of course be in demand, secondly Farci, and for the far sighted, maybe even Chinese or Korean. Everyone, seemingly, already knows Spanish and thus has very little market value. |
