Army Engineers are enlisted and branch officers, the Corps of Engineers (ACoE) is primarily civilian, so any commissioning opportunities are reserved for those experts in the field the Dept. of Army wants.

Ahh, that brings alot to light. I am probably softer than most of the soft applicants that you get, I could definatly not handle another round of basic (OCS) thats why I am asking about direct commissions, and since chemical engineers are not used by the military im better off as a civilian. (Chemical engineers are not related to army "chemical" absolutly no correlation there, some people make that mistake, oh you can go into chemical, NOT), I dont like to breath gas so I make sure it stays in the pipe.
Would you consider a draftee along the same lines as someone who signed up and realized they REALLY cant hack it. |

I realize that selective service is the "draft" but it is not being utilized. I think having a draft is about the same as someone signing up and not wanting to be there anymore. I wanted to quit the first week of basic and nothing changed at graduation, I guess im maybe the exception rather than the rule.
