Thank you very much for your time and energy! I wish to rejoin the military. I served in the Navy in Dec, 1995 to Nov, 1998. I was Discharged Under Honorable as a result of a Psych review. I am thirty three years old now. I stand at 6'2" and 300 lbs. I feel that I will need to get back into much better shape.

I am wondering if there is anyway to rejoin the military given that my DD214 has RE-4 on it. From what I have read so far gives me the impressiont that makes it difficult.

I suppose why would be a good question. The simple answer is that I want to serve my country and to correct a past mistake. I plan on talking to a local recruiter tomorrow and I will share if anything changes.

Looks like you are going to have a difficult time with this. RE-4 will need to be overturned by a Discharge Review Board.

RE-4 = Not Recommended for Reenlistment.

The governments viewpoint is once bitten, twice shy.

That and for your height, you need to drop better than 100lbs. Thats a great amount of weight to have to lose.

The gunny is right, you will have to face a discharge review board and you will have to provide proof that you have been treated for your psychological illness that got you discharged in the first place. I wish you luck, but your chances of getting back in are pretty slim.
