I'm going to make this short and sweet.

I'm 14 years old. It is my absolute dream to become a National Guard/U.S Army sniper. I fully realize the dangers and hardships I can be putting myself into when I enlist. I also realize that the U.S. Army/National Guard sniper schools have very different pre-requirements.

As a 14-year old in fit shape, what can I do to improve on myself significantly to the point where I have a high chance of becoming what I want to become within the U.S Army/National Guard, which is a sniper?

One last note. I do realize that being a sniper in any branch of the army is not all shooting big targets. I absolutely prefer the Sniper position because it is overall the most interesting army position to me.

This includes marksmanship-specific skills, training, physical endurance or strength exercises, teaching myself to be able to estimate long distances, camoflauge training, exercises, and techniques; as well as any other aspect of the Sniper.

Thanks. Reply to my topic as soon as you can so I'm able to quickly start up on anything and everything I can do to meet the sniper pre-requirements before initial enlistment.

Three to four years is a long time to work up for something like this. That's almost about as long as some enlistments. My contract might be up before you're even allowed to sign the papers.

Ya know, I was also thinking that this kid was getting started awfully early.

Kid, I commend you for wanting to serve your country, nothing wrong with that, but I have to ask you, how are you going to react if you don't get into sniper school? You need to remember that it's the needs of the military before the needs of the individual.

Think about this one long and hard, because it's no joke to not make the school/position you were hoping for and to still have an 8 year contract that you have to honor.

Becoming a U.S. Sniper is my absolute dream within the Army. I'm willing to take the risk of not getting into sniper school (I'm actually uneducated on the process of getting into sniper school; any enlightenment on this subject would be nice) to enlist and see how it goes.
