USN, of course. Haven't you seen the TV show? They get to go undercover (in Iraq, no less!), kick in doors and shoot people, jump out of airplanes, all kinds of cool shtuff.
Stuff that....I've never seen a lawyer do....ever. Seriously, can't really tell ya for sure, but (for some odd reason) I used to live next to an SJA in the USMC and now live next door to a JAG in the Army. Just judging from their talk, there's really not a whole lot of difference between the two. |

I know lawyers/attorneys get boring work, but they get paid well. Plus they travel for the government none-the-less. That's what attracts me to JAG.
Come on patoloco, you're a Marine and probably have worked with JAGs in all the branches. Give me your honest opinion. Fair Winds and Following Seas |

Well, if ya want my opinion....
Was never impressed by the USN Lawyers. High pressure, guilty until proven innocent attitudes, and not all that bright. Just my experience with them. And that's working for "both sides"-- I was investigated by them, and later served as an investigator for them. I got two years of criminal law and I could outsmart and out-talk these guys. And as I said, Marines and Army seem to be very close in thought process, attitudes, etc. Reasonable, nice, professional guys. USAF? Don't know, never worked with any of their lawyers. The most impressive group of lawyers I dealt with were the Marines at the War College, Geneva Conventions, International Law Working Group. Awesome, knowledgeable, friendly, dedicated, approachable and other good adjectives. Most of all, they exhibited a true enjoyment for what they do. And they travel a hell of a lot while they're on active duty--- Oh, and these guys were all Reservists. All of them practiced in international law for their "day jobs". Might want to look into the Reserves yourself, especially if you're unsure about committing to the service. |
