right now i am in AFROTC. i like some of the stuff we do but i cannot stand it that i have to call a cadet Sir or Ma'am and salute them. in my eyes they are not officers why should i salute someone that is letting this get to their head. i want to be a pilot but in ROTC the comarnders ranking will make or break you. i am very close to just enlisting and leave ROTC and just have the national gaurd pay for me to go to school and just go to OTS when i graduate. can some one give me advise.

Remember why you joined AFROTC in the first place everytime you encounter those thoughts. There are good valid reasons for all that is done and is expected of you. ROTC offers one a good idea of what they are getting themselves into without having to risk your life to learn it the hard way. My advice is for you to fully embrace the processes and system you enrolled in. If you can't do that, then by all means get out.
