Hi,
Well long story short, i had cancer Non Hodgkins and ACL Knee Surgery and MEPS said no by there docs so they had to send it out. Anyways i have not heard back from my Recruiter, i have contacted him via phone and through other recruiters and well nothing. Before i get judged on my past Health, Please note that on the ASVAB i scored a 89 on the physical test for the AF i can do 62 push ups in a min, 70 crunches in a min, under 32 waist measurement and can run 1.5 miles in under 11 min. My health has nothing to do with me now, other than the burden of it being part of my past. I play alot of sports and that includes basketball, and as far as my job i work in construction, and currently i do commercial building which has me walking on steel beams high above. Is it physical work yes, does it affect me no. |

Well if you go ANG or AFReserves...which may not be as tough a screening...you'll probably get activated. Not sure though.
Best wishes! |

Doubt seriously they will allow one with a history of cancer to enlist. Pre-existing conditions weigh heavily on the decision points. Were they to let you in, and you came out of remission, they (the govt) would be on the hook for not only your life, but the cost as well. Don't mean to sound callous, but why should the taxpayers have to pay that price?
I wish you luck, and stick around and let us know what you find out. SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |
