I live on the flight path between the Chicago area and Ypsilanti/Willow Run and, therefore, have the pleasure of seeing biplanes and World War II aircraft flying over my house. The biplanes are too difficult because some of them are stunt planes but I am curious about identifying World War II aircraft. The B-17 is easy and they are generally low enough to see well (we are less than 40 miles from the airport at Willow Run) and recognize. It is a maybe on B-29s but I am lost for the other aircraft.
The web is not geared towards an easy display of airplane silhouettes. Do any of you have and suggestions? "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |

Thanks, I hope that they go back to older aircraft.

"Janes" has MANY books concerning the military. You should have no problem finding something there. The strongest tree comes from the "nut" who stood his ground. |
