Have any of you here either been in or are in a language based MOS? I'm looking at the 98G, but would like to know what it is that these guys actually do. Or another similar MOS. Maybe some other aspects such as the DLI and DLAB.

98G? That's an Army MOS...right? Though, there is an equivalent in the USAF.

I was in language-based MOS (interrogator-translator).

DLI is Defense Language Institute-- the DoD language school.

DLAB is the Defense Language Aptitude Battery-- the test you take for language aptitude (your score on this test determines whether you're suited for DLI and what language you'd likely be able to learn).

Other than spelling out the acronyms, there's nothing more I can tell you. There's no way to prepare for the DLAB....it's a very special test-- even if you score well, you'll feel retarded after taking it. I used to administer this test...several Marines threatened to punch me in the head if I ever put them through that again.
