First off, let me tell everyone that I was an Enlisted Nuclear Machinist Mate in the Navy from '99 - '03, this may put ya'alls mind at ease for what I am asking.

I am currently writing a zombie novel (yeah, go ahead and laugh) that is set in Tampa and need some vague Air Force information that I could not find on the net.

One of my secondary characters is an Air Guard flight medic on her duty weekend. All hell breaks loose when there is a terrorist attack that fills all local hospitals. Keep in mind, this is imaginary .

But with no classified or protected information, can you please let me know specifically what a flight medic may be doing to prep for a flight? Who (incl rank and duties) would be on that training flight? What kind of roll would a flight medic switch to in the event of a major casualty and they needed to work in the hospital?

I would prefer as specific information as possible, or even point me in the right direction on the web. I appreciate your help as I am only intimately familiar with the ins and outs of Naval military routine.
