I plan on joining in a couple of years (When I graduate HS). Mainly thinking about Security Forces. Also thinking about Weather, Aerial Gunner, and and In-Flight Refuling. I don't know exactly how long I want to be in the Air Force, but I do know that when I get out I want to be a Police Officer. So I want to know what are the chances of getting one of those AFSC that I listed, and if you have any advice for me.

Odds are pretty good, providing you graduate H.S. If you have opportunity to go to college, recommend taking that route.

First you need to take the ASVAB, then go from there. What you "want" to do and "able" to do depends on your AFQT score, and your line scores. I dont have the book in front of my but I do believe these are the line scores for the USAF, Mechanical, Administrative, General, Electronics. And to get those jobs you need this -
Aerial Gunner - M-60 or E-45 Weather - G-66 and E-50 In-flight Reflueing - G-55 Security Forces - G-33 For AFQT scores you will have to talk to your recruiter, I am not exactly sure if those line scores are correct, if someone knows the correct scores please let me know so I can edit this. My advice would be to make sure your recruiter secures the job you want ON PAPER, before you sign your contract, otherwise you could end up doing something you dont want. I have explained everything above correctly, it’s your interpretation which is incorrect. I am above reproach, your obviously not, or I wouldn’t be talking to you. |

Not once the contract is signed with a guaranteed spot.

Ok thanks for the info. I have pretty much narrowed it down to Aeriel Gunner or Security Forces. When it comes time for me to enlist I'll make a definate choice.

Great, just remember one key factor with selection of any job that involves weapons, whenever you shoot them, you are susceptable to also be on the receiving end of them shooting back.

I know. Just like that one saying "Pray for the best and be prepared for the worst". I know their is a chance I might die or be injured in the military, though that fear wont keep me from enlisting or picking a dangerous AFSC.

It is possible to switch jobs while in Basic Training, even ig you signed a contract with your recruiter for job A.
I went into basic with a contract for job A and went through the process to change it to job B. I did all the tests etc and passed but in the end the job I signed for needed people and I was unable to move. You should makes sure your not at risk for something like that first. |

Well said Commie.
But Dusty is correct as well, if the service needs you to do another "job" its your duty to do that "job" you are thier "property" and they can do whatever the hell they want to with you. Note: Get everything on paper, otherwise it dont mean shit. I have explained everything above correctly, it’s your interpretation which is incorrect. I am above reproach, your obviously not, or I wouldn’t be talking to you. |
