is there military police in the air force?

Well Im in Security Forces (SF) in the Air Force. Pretty much the same thing as an MP but what we do different is we do Law enforcement/Security also we do infintry stuff also. So that makes us the "Ground Pounders" of the AF. Its a cool job been in it for 5 1/2 yrs now. also I'm the NCOIC of Combat Arms (CA). Now I have a really cool job. I get to teach ppl how to Disassembly/Assembly, clean, conduct maintance, shoot and all that cool stuff. But it sucks also because I have to keep up to MOS at once, which is hecktick because of changes in both career fields I have to remember. If your looking to go in it could be a good thing to go SF in the Air Force just to deploy alot. But if you don't want to deploy better join something else like finance... And if for some reason you join I hope that you have a good sense of humor because everyone j/ks with everyone really harshly!! but its all in done in love. Well there is my speel on the little bit of knowledge and blabbering for you.

A friend and I had a little run in with the AF security guys on the flight line one morning. It was some bad weather and we had our plane parked in the AF hanger with their KC-135's, hey, they had the biggest hanger. Well, we had a flight so we get to the hanger and are walking to our plane to do a preflight, and out of no where 2 of these gung-ho security guys come out screaming at us and pointing their M-16s at us. They tell us to get on the ground, so we did, well, it was cold and we had our flight line badges under our coats on our flight suits. Since the badges weren't visible they thought we were unauthorized personnel (this was 2 weeks after 9-11). Well after they found our badges, they helped us up and told us next time to wear our badges on the outside where they were visible, good times.

so are the majority of sf's deploying to the middle east or where? im not really interested in finance...at this time anyway...i do have a fiance that it would be tough to leave, but i'm not really digging any civilian jobs. police work interests me a lot recently. if im am deployed, whut kind of jobs are most sf's getting stuck with...gaurding airports? or bases in iraq? i've got like a million questions so i'm going to call a recruiter this week. i have a friend who was a specialist in the army for 4 years but hated the way they tossed him around and never really used him. he was stuck on a navy ship for like 6 mnths cleaning weapons. i don't mind seeing some action, but i wanna be in one piece for my girl when i get back.
