You need to ask yourself what do you LIKE to do? Then figure out how that translates into a job in the branch of service you want to enlist in.
Speak to the recruiter and show them your scores. They should be able to provide a listing of MOS that you qualify for based on your scores. You might be surprised at all the different job fields the Air Force has to offer. rrpearso must have been a really crappy soldier because my entire career so far I have been rewarded for the work I have put in. Here's an idea rrpearso, try doing your job instead of whining because you didnt get your way, then maybe you will get something. Holy crap, your like my little sister who I have to bribe with candy to get her to clean her room.
jojo, the best option is to talk to your recruiter and to have your recruiter arrange for you to meet some Active duty people in the careers your interested in. It can be and has been done. Make sure you choose something you are going to be interested in doing because the descriptions of the jobs that the recruiter has are not 100% accurate. Also, your recruiter hasnt done EVERY job in the Air Force, so that is why its good to talk to people who are doing the job you are interested in. Also, be aware that the Air Force is in the middle of getting rid of a lot of people and certain jobs are being targeted more than others. Also, have you thought about the USAF Academy? |

I just dont throw sugar on, I tell it like it is. As far as not working hard, I have a chemical engineering degree and 2 yrs left to get my chem eng PE and then will go on to a masters in optical physics (ie lasers), I am also 2 Xcountrys away from my pilots licence and will be buying an Extra 300 in about 4 years (thats where our currant budget is so with more raises it may be shorter), then I will likely get my rotary rating so I can actually DO what I originally signed up to do with the guard and fly helicopters for the park service on a voulentary basis. So if you want to talk about not working hard and lack of motivation your not talking about me. My biggest thing is I have 0 tolerance for BS nonsence, if it is not directly related to what im focused on dont waste my time, that is the mentality of high achivers.

So if JoJo is floating as far as what he/she wants to do and does not have any real intense focus on any particular job then it wont be a big deal. If on the other hand someone is dead set ahead on what they want anything to the contrary will be unaccptable and I dont care what the militarys opinion is, im going to do what I want to do and im not going to have my time and energy impeaded by things that are not in my focus, thats just me, and its by no means bad it is the mark of high achivement.
