Greetings everybody. Im new here, and I have a few questions for you. The're tricky, so brace yourself!

I've thought about joining USAF for quite a long time. My goal in life is to be a graphics, and web designer for PC, and console gaming companys such as Blizzard Entertainment etc. I have NO money for college at all. USAF would easily solve that problem. One of my deepest passions and desires is to serve my country. But there are a few "forks" in the road that would keep me from doing so. And I have a few questions that I would love to be answered as well, as for some general opinions on my situation.

1. I love my family. I love my girlfriend, and her family. We all are VERY close. My girlfriend and I have talked about getting married around a year and a half from now. We feel we are ready for that commitment now. But the thing that is keeping us from joining together now is her school. Shes going to school to be a cosmotologist and beautician. She attends her school for 45+ hours per week currently.
>>Q If I joined the Airforce now, went through basic training, and tech school (depending on job of course) would I have some time to leave and propose to her? Then say, 5-6 months later after said proposal, would I be able to obtain leave again to marry her officially? Is there some sort of break between basic training and tech? After both trainings, would I immediatly be sent away to do my job?

Would I just be better off waiting till she is finished with school to just marry her then join? We love eachother very deeply. As you can see. I have digged deep everywhere for some answers. But can't seem to find anything.

Would I be able to obtain some help on my situation? Maybe get a few facts, and opinions from everyone personally? Please help!

Marry the girl. Don't ever leave her.
Try Devry Tech or microsoft.

Learn flight sim and get a Commission through ROTC.

Fly drones. Design flight programs to get drone pilots from crashing the darn things.

If you love her and she loves you. Do it.

It's a very hard question to answer. It will depend on your training school and how long it is, when it will start, etc.

My son is now awaiting training in the Marines. He's completed Basic and now is at his job skill training school. He's been told there's a backlog of students and he won't begin training until next calendar year. And then he'll begin an eight month course (computer repair).

So, yes, there are breaks and things in the training, but there's almost no way to predict when or how that will happen for you.
