i want to enlist and then get my degree so i can eventually be a pilot.
i heard about the AECP program that lets you go to school full time while remaining on active duty. is this a sighn up and youre in kind of thing? or do i have to apply and its competitive to get into? and if i end up not being able to do that, how hard is it to get a degree while on active duty, for anyone who has done it? either by regular school, or online school, how tough is it? i want my degree in aerospace engineering btw thanks |

Hate to say this, but that plan is the long way and least likely way to be a pilot in the Air Force.
If you aren't already Air Force Academy material, than odds are you won't become an Air Force pilot via the enlisted route. SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |

deganajo, I feel that you have been in this forum before asking the same question again, right? Forget becoming a pilot the way you describe it. Getting a degree while on active duty (or working in civilian life) is a tough road that few can walk. I worked night shifts at Boeing while going to the UW during the day. I lived on no doze pills and after a while I got chest pains. My grades suffered and I was put on Probation. After 8 months I gave that dual role up, things improved and I made it through ROTC.

There are a lot of Officers in the AF hoping to be able to fly. However, I believe that the slots are reserved for the Academy Cadets.
I too would recommend that you go ahead and get your degree, then decide if you wish to stay in the civilian job market or join a branch of the military. "In peace, sons bury their fathers. In war, fathers bury their sons." Herodotus |
