I am currently stationed at Mcguire AFB, my wife is DYING to get back to FL and she wants to stay around the Tampa area. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Before I change my dream sheet I am trying to get some what of an idea about the deployment rates on the 135s out there. We deploy quite alot at McGuire but I guess the 6th amw supports Centcom and SOC so I wouldnt know if that makes a difference in the rate or not.

Here's a little bit of advice: If she ain't happy, you ain't gonna be happy. And if she ain't happy long enough, your certainly not gonna be happy with only half of your stuff.

MacDill is the worst base I've been to. I am from Tampa and love it and I have no desire to go back to that hell hole, unless your an officer. Enlisted side sucks, you will deploy at least once for 3 months a year. In my 3 years there we had 7 suicide attempts. Including my best friend did kill himself after a second attempt. Nobody cares about you there, I was putting in 50-60 hrs a week.

Have to disagree there...deployments or not I will take Florida over Jersey any day of the week. I just had to go to Mcguire for school and never want to go back.

wow, 3 month deployments! Such hardship to endure.

I could understand if you guy's were out there on the ground side by side with the Marines and sharing thier creature comforts, but the life of an airman is pure luxury compared to the rest of the services. You guy's obviously don't know when you are well off and pampered.

Let me see 3 month deployments, I think that is a shame. I feel so sorry for this new breed of wing wipers. Wonder what they would if they had to do what we did every day in the field, Nam rings some bells as in 12 month deployment well I guess this is the new age military.

well not all units are so lucky in the airforce. i know that the MP at FE Warren deploy for 12-18 months at a time, and they are in the sh** with the Army when the Army needs some extra bodies.

I guess I have a problem with cry babies, ya know the ones that cry over the least little thing that puts them out. I have no real problems with the dedicated service members that are in for the right reasons. Did not mean to demean them, they are the pros.
