Alright now I am in a weird situation. I told my air force recruiter yesterday that I wanted to join. Now he wants me to go up to MEPS next tuesday. Now here's my thing, I forgot to mention that I had went to a technical school my junior year of highschool. It was really stupid which is why I didn't continue in my senior year. I told my recruiter. Because I am filling out this paper with information on references and stuff, he wants me to fax it to him later today. Now when I told him this and asked him if I should just put that on their too, he said that me going there wouldn't need to be on their because I was still technically enrolled at my regular school. Now should I just trust him. I mean I have the e-mail to prove he said it to me, so would I be ok in the future? Like they won't be like you you went to the Technical center and didn't mention it "Dishonorable discharge and death penalty" sorry exaggerating here but you catch my drift.
Thanks. Also should I just tell him I might not be able to make this upcoming MEPS due to work, I already told him I might not be able to get it off because it is literally like a weekend away. Then maybe he won't feel so much pressure to get me up there so fast and will take his time? Thanks again |

If you can't commit to going for whatever reason, tell your recruiter. He'll work with you. You'll have to make 2 trips to MEPS the first is the testing phase. The second is after you have qualified to prep you for boot camp. As for the technical school attendence omission during High School? No bearing on MEPS processing. My son also attended a technical school while enrolled in high school. It has no bearing on MEPS (as Gunny said), but my son did receive extra college credits added to his Marine schooling because of the technical school (he attended electronic repair/computer repair technical school, which is directly related to his current training in the USMC).
So, it might not matter now, or at MEPS, but getting it recorded in your records once you're in might be a good idea. |
