And i was wondering whether i should tell anyone at all or not. the only question they asked that could concern that would be, "Are you on any medication?" but i am not using the prescription lotion anymore. I heard that having eczema was a PDQ, because people who have it can die from taking a smallpox vaccine.

More info; there is always more info that i forgot to add in. I am pretty damned sure that it is eczema, because there are alot of people who question the validity of eczema diagnosis', because i have both asthma, and some kind of fancy term coined as a rash which i got on my arm, which fits the description. I believe the lady called it "the triad." Should i tell them i have eczema, or dont tell them and hope that they dont look at my medical records (i was treated at a military hospital, because my dad was in the navy).

hmmm, you really do need to disclose any existing medical condition and let them make the determination. the rash you speak of, what percent of your skin does it cover? is it visible in short sleeve uniform shirt? myself I have psorasis and it can be disabling if it goes untreated. a spot of it on elbows or having dandruff isn't really a disqualifier medically.

Well i have eczema on three of my fingertips and only bothers me when i am doing alot of work with my hands causing my hands to lose moisture, or if i use the ultra concentrated soaps for dish washing. But i dont think thats the point. I dont know too much about small pox and i dont know much about eczema either, but i think that people who are not immune to eczema are also not immune to small pox. But that is only a wild swing for the fences, i wish they told people why they cannot join because of eczema. There is actually about 8 different types, and im not sure which ones are bad, enless they are all bad.

The disqualifying medical conditions are listed below. The International Classification of Disease (ICD) codes are listed in parentheses following each standard.
The causes for rejection for appointment, enlistment, and induction (without an approved waiver) are an authenticated history of: a. Acne (706), severe, or when extensive involvement of the neck, shoulders, chest, or back would be aggravated by or interfere with the wearing of military equipment, and would not be amenable to treatment. Patients under treatment with isotretinoin (Accutane) are medically unacceptable until 8 weeks after completion of course of therapy. b. Atopic dermatitis (691) or eczema (692), with active or residual lesions in characteristic areas (face, neck, antecubital, and or/popliteal fossae, occasionally wrists and hands), or documented history thereof after the age of 8. c. Contact dermatitis (692.4), especially involving rubber or other materials used in any type of required protective equipment. The key statement is mention of a waiver. Look into waiver process to see if you can obtain one or not. medical skin disorders SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war.
