Looong story here. I'll just put it this way...Navy DEP was a crock of s***. I always wanted to join the AF, but when I asked an Airman about joining he said they dont accept those with GED's. I should've talked to an AF recruiter instead. That led me to join the Navy DEP. I'm now on my way out of that, and found out the AF DOES accept GED applicants, but its rare. (just like the Navy) I know I can score a 65 on the ASVAB, have no criminal history, no drug use, a good income right now and my wife and I live below our needs, etc. What I'm asking is what are the chances of me being able to get in the AF DEP with a GED? Thanks! And if you want to know about what happened with the Navy I'll tell you. Just ask.

Hmmm, so let me get the straight of this. You are currently signed up for Navy Delayed Entry Program, and have no plans to follow through with this signed contractual committment? You plan of getting out of this contract and then going to apply for the Air Force?
You do realise that the Air Force only takes the cream of the crop so to speak. I think its highly doubtful they will take you on now as you are backing out of Navy DEP for whatever reason. If you wanted to join the military, whats the attraction of delayed entry program? Why not just sign up and ship out? SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. FutureAirman, if you want the miltary stay where you are. I've heard the USAF has stopped taking waivers. On the GED thing talk to an USAF recruiter, before you drop out of Navy DEP.

The Air Force is presently only accepting GED applicants who currently posses 15 or more college credit hours. Outside of that, you are SOL. I recommend you do what you can to stay in the Navy DEP.

OK, I am asking. I just can not understand what was so bad about DEP. "In peace, sons bury their fathers. In war, fathers bury their sons." Herodotus |
