Right, let's see who likes what out there. I'll put down some pistols I believe should be on the list, if you have any others you'd rather vote for feel free to let us know.

Question:
Which on the list would you rather have on you when needed?

Choices:
Para ordnance P14
USP .45
Colt 1911 .45.
SIG 220
Glock 22
CZ 75

not so. It's just that not many live in areas conducive to carrying a handgun. (legally)

A model 1911 with a good barrel bushing and a little trigger work, in the right hands is a superb weapon. Too bad the military retired it in favor of the 9mm. Reckon there's not much call for tunnel rats these days.

And if the 9mm is so farking good, Nato considerations aside, how many spec ops guys who can carry what they want and feel comfy with would opt for it do you think? Glock .40 check. 1911 check. Some other high cal? Beretta 9? hahahaha.
I can't imagine what it would have been like for some of your hardcorps Marines who were on active duty during the transition. Maybe like having a nut cut off... Eeker

gunny, how about cave rats in Afghanistan (genus Taliban)? Some of those caves must get deep back in w/lots of reverb. (REMF-Logic?)

ain't nothing that a few well placed grenades won't take care of. I was mostly refering to the tunnels in Nam. Can you imagine going down into those with only a little flashlite and a .45?

levant-viper

Most are caves with very hard to see or find small openings. The terrain isn't conducive to extensive tunnelling like it was in Nam. In Afganistan one would need some equipment along the lines of jack hammers.

im surprised the H&K is not on there probably one of the best guns you can buy, hand gun or rifle. I am saving up my money for a remake of the G-3. Gotta love the .308 round, put a full metal jacket in it and you can go through a trama plate

Im gonna have to give a nod to a handgun not on your list...The S&W 1911. The Colt is a good weapon but the Smith comes with alot of the options you would have to pay to customize later stock right out of the box. And i just never could get used to the feel of the Para with the wider grip. I guess it just didnt feel right to me.

I dunno I'm say maybe
1. USP .45
2. USP 9mm (much easier to get ammo for)
3. Glock 17 (very high capacity)
4. Springfield XD (high capacity .45)
